    1988-present  Director of Michigan State University’s Forest Biomass Innovation Center and Forest Biomass Development Coordinator for the MSU Ag BioResearch.
Research Interests:
Improving short rotation intensive culture forest plantation systems, exploring genotype - site interactions, improving pest management systems in forest plantations, optimizing forest feedstock supply chains.
Professional Activities：
Miller sits on the Steering Committees of the Frontier Center of Energy Excellence, the Forest Biomass Statewide Collaboration Center, and the Renewable Fuels Working Group of Michigan State University and Michigan Technological University. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters and of the Poplar Council of the United States. Miller consults regularly with industries, entrepreneurs, and policy makers regarding the production of woody biomass in Michigan and represents the university at gatherings of stakeholders in the developing bioeconomy of Michigan.
