Professor Geng obtained Ph.D. from Kansas State University, USA in 1972 and served as a Biostatistician of the Upjohn Company from 1972 to1976. From 1976 to 2010, he has gone through the ranks of Assistant, Associate and Full Professor and served a term as Associate Dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the University of California at Davis. In May of 2008, he has been appointed as a professor and Dean of the School of Environment and Energy of Peking University’s Shenzhen Graduate School. While in UCD, he directed more than 10 Ph.D. students and 30 Master’s Students. He served as consultant or adviser of more than 20 international companies, governmental agencies and research institutes. He organized and spoke in many international conferences on environmental and agricultural sustainability. His research areas include environmental ecology, simulation models, especially risk assessment methodology of global environmental changes and water resource management. He has published 126 papers in international scientific journals. He is an elected Fellow of American Association for Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) in 1995 and American Society of Agronomy (ASA) 1997. He teaches courses of Biostatistics, Design and Analyses of Environmental Studies and Simulation Modeling.
