Achievements to today:
Developed and co-developed six new potato cultivars with high yield and early maturate as well as disease resistance and release eight new potato germplasm into USA potato gene bank.
Developed world first of new potato somatic hybrids with both late blight and CPB resistance
Developed ten new potato clones that carrying high starch and antioxidant content.
Identify a new late blight resistance gene, Rpi-2 in potato.
Initiated as project leader ten international and national research projects with scientists from Canada, USA, and China.
Received in collaboration with Canadian and Chinese research scientists of total 4.5 million dollars outside research grants for potato and wheat research, of which 1.5 million dollars were received for the projects as project leader.
126 peer-reviewed publications, 6 patents or patent applications, over 40 oral and poster presentations at national and international symposia.
