Nutritional science and technology innovation is becoming the hot spot and emphasis of the world. Currently, health system construction of our country has serious structural problem. Double demands based on good medical services for patients as well as health maintenance and constitution improvement for common people or non-patients have become general nutrition and health needs. Developed countries in Europe and America have implemented new deployment and arrangement of nutrition and health strategies. Health China 2030 plans the outline, pools various elements and forms a new developmental framework of nutrition and health undertaking of China. Common people health protection system, which aims at lowering down medical expenditure and improving health services, is still weak. Current extensive quantity-based agricultural development system of China should force, starting from nutrition and health requirements, to solve industrial problems of modern agriculture-nutrition and processing quality. Construct and implement a comprehensive, Chinese-characteristic national health protection system that focuses on “two systems” - medical system and health maintenance system. Both of the two are indispensable and equally important. Clarify academic frontier and key technological system of nutrition and health. Carry out in-depth fundamental researches, cutting-edge technology researches as well as major key technology researches to support industrial development. Achieve nutrition and health through structural reform of supply side of agriculture and food. With “three cores” - discipline construction, talent team and structural adjustment” as the driving force, enhance the capability of making scientific and technological innovation of nutrition and health, and realize sustainable development of nutrition and health industry.
