Professor Vanclay is a professor of Sustainable Forestry, leads the forestry program at Southern Cross University, is a project leader in the CRC (Cooperative Research Center) Forestry and chairs the Expert Independent Advisory Panel to the Minister for the Environment in Victoria.
Prior to joining SCU he was Principle Scientist with the Centre for International Forestry Research, and Professor of Tropical Forestry at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen, Denmark.
He holds a higher degree (D. Sc. For.) and received the Queen’s Award for Forestry in 1997. He leads the SCU team in decision support systems for forest management including growth modelling and yield prediction.
Professor Vanclay has written over 250 publications.
