Research Interests:
I currently lead the Soils Research Team at SAC. My research focuses on improving nutrient use efficiency in a wide range of agricultural systems including outdoor pig production, dairying, organic farming and agroforestry. I am particularly interested in the management of legumes in agricultural systems and am the Scientific Coordinator of the EU Legume Futures project. Most of my research focuses on nitrogen and phosphorus although I have recently begun working on trace elements in farming systems with colleagues at SLU and the James Hutton Institute.
