Education Background:
Jian-Min Yue received his B.S. degree in 1984 from Lanzhou University where he also received his MS and Ph.D. in 1987 and 1990, respectively.
Working Experiences:
He was a post-doctor in Kunming Institute of Botany (KIB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and a post-doctor in School of Chemistry, University of Bristol, UK. He was an associate professor in KIB from 1994 to 1996. He joined the staff of Unilever Research SIOC as senior scientist, project leader from 1996-1999. He was then moved to Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), CAS, where he remains up to now as a professor. He was a visiting professor at Department of Chemistry, The University of Queensland, Australia (2001), and Novartis Pharma AG, Switzerland (2002).
Research Interests:
He is currently led his research group focusing on discovery and developing biological important components from natural resources. Understanding of the chemistry and biological mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is also his major research focus. He has published over 240 original research papers and 8 book chapters, and 12 patents approved.
