Working Experiences:

Work at FAO: I joined the FAO in 2010 as a Senior Coordinator for the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme (SSC), was financed by the Chinese government with a total investment of USD 130 million. It facilitates 36 projects at global, regional and country levels, most of them in Africa and Asia with the expertise support of more than 1000 long-term experts and technicians hired as FAO consultants working in numerous countries. The SSC Program has organized 25 technical trainings and 15 High Level Workshops/Forums on the relevant hot topics and policies, both in China and other countries since 2010. I have successfully initiated and managed innovative new SSC modalities, as developed and endorsed by FAO, including expanding the range of SSC through a combination of long-, medium- and short-term expertise support, linking technical cooperation with policy dialogues. The other SSC innovation that I contributed was the SSC projects expanded to regional and global levels. The results achieved has been acknowledged by all parties involved, and more resources were subsequently mobilized for FAO from different partners and donors, such as the Government of the Netherlands, the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development as well as private investment of US$220 million for the establishment of the Uganda-China Agriculture Industry Park in Uganda. The SSC Program has expanded to become one of FAO’s flagship programs and is credited with helping the Organization to fulfil its mandate of building a world without hunger.

Work at the Chinese Government: I worked for the Ministry of Agriculture of China for 27 years since 1983, where I was in charge of international cooperation through promoting bilateral cooperation between China and other countries. I held the posts of the Directors responsible for the European Affairs Division, Asian and African Affairs Division, and prior to that I was Deputy Director for America and Oceania Affairs Division. I am a dedicated and passionate professional as I have demonstrated through my working history, in particular in coordinating with the traditional development donors in order to mobilize more resources in support of the agriculture development in China. My strongest skills include excellent leadership abilities, partnership and business development, resource mobilization and organizational capacities as exemplified by my experiences in coordinating and managing multilateral cooperation activities. In addition, I brought what these posts a dedicated portfolio and considerable expertise in bilateral agricultural cooperation with countries in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. I possess a pioneering spirit, strong creative capacities, and competent communication skills in English and Chinese, as well as a broad vision of the world.
