Hypothesis: In the basins of foothill small rivers in Uzbekistan, significant part of the river volume generates before the vegetation period, and the water needed mainly in this time. The river-channel basins characterized by the rapid destruction of the lining of irrigation channels due to the high speed of water flow in the channels, and the efficiency of traditional irrigation methods is very low.
Therefore, the development of an improved system for an efficient delivery and use of water resources considered as key challenge for agriculture of Uzbekistan.
It planned to develop recommendations for the creation of an improved system for the management and use of water resources. To achieve this goal, it planned to solve the problems of studying and assessing river flow, investigation of the possibilities of regulating the flow of river water, studying the issue of delivering water through pipes instead of open channels, using the formed water pressure in the pipe to introduce water-saving irrigation methods. The result of the research is recommendations for the creation of an improved system for the management and use of water resources in the basins of foothill small rivers.
Implementation of the results will create opportunities for sustainable high yields of agricultural crops in mountain river basins on the basis of rational management of existing water resources, reduction of water wastage in water supply and efficient use of water in crop irrigation, and for students studying water resources management, irrigation, land reclamation, agriculture. Results serves as an assistant in the development of methodological manuals of irrigated areas.
